Style: Sporty Vibes with Pink Clove

'The sun has got his hat on, hip hip hip hooray!' Long time followers of the blog will know I am a miserable old trout in the winter and a super annoying happy person in the summer. I BLOODY LOVE SUNSHINE!! I really, really do! I was meant to have been born in a lovely warm country and live on cheese, fresh bread and ripe tomatoes. Wishful thinking aside, what better timing to get one's pins out than when the sun's out! And today I'm doing it in style with this banger of a skirt from Pink Clove

Mind you, it helps that I got a spray tan the other day too, so I'm feeling gooooood and am relatively unbothered by getting my legs out (something I'm still normally a tad bothered about).

I've kept the styling for this mega simple teaming it with a basic navy tshirt and cute white trainers. I love the colour of the skirt, something I probably wouldn't think of wearing in summer, but I think teamed with the navy and white, you can get away with a darker berry shade.

Now. An explanation. The following photo is one of me being 'sporty' as instructed by my dad who was taking the pic. I am not sporty (evidenced quite graphically by this picture) nor am I suggesting that if you partake in the 'athleisure' trend, you should suddenly become an overnight Linford Christie... or someone relevant and not from the 90s. It's just fashion people.

So ridiculous photos aside, this is a really cute, flexible, all year round kinda skirt. Ideally, I think I should have sized up to the 24 for my own comfort, but it's not horrendous, I just like my clothes to be a bit more baggy on the whole. That being said, it's got plenty of stretch in it, it looks fab and the price, as is all of Pink Clove's range, mega reasonable.

This style comes in black too and at £18 each, and I highly recommend buying both, because I'm a terrible, terrible influence.

Enjoy those rays while they're here. I'm sure my usual miserable service will resume next week when it's raining again! Tataaaaaa Xx

Style: New Brand Alert! Introducing - Love 4 All

It's always exciting to introduce a new plus size brand. Anything that offers and extends our choices is great to see. The latest brand to enter the forum is Love 4 All who currently offer a small but well-rounded range of dresses, tops and leggings. I have been reliably informed that the brand will grow over time and include a wider variety of clothing as well as size range.

I opted to try out the red printed maxi dress, something I knew I could layer up while it was still chilly but easily wear on its own with sandals in the summer months.

The dress is partially lined, with small split detail to each side of the skirt. I am 5'7" and it's around ankle length on me. I particularly loved the double strap detail and shallow v-neck, great for 'modest' me!

When I wore the dress it was still a bit chilly, so I layered it with a black tee, popped on my cropped denim jacket, and toughened up the look with biker boots for a more grunge-esque feel.

The dress is lightweight and the fabric is a crepe-type material. I found it true to be size, and one great feature on the website is that it explains if the item is true or whether you should size up or down. They also show how the styles look on varying sized models.

I think over all the range has some growing to do, but it's off to a great start and has some stand-out pieces like the Starfish Print Dress seen here on Sam of FattyBoomTatty

I'm really looking forward to seeing what the future brings for this new brand!

Style: Jumping for Joy

So we all know I'm big into jumpsuits, but when it comes to making them office/work appropriate finding the right jumpsuit can prove a little trickier. When I came across this beauty on Fashion World, I wasn't sure how I was going to style it, but I knew give the cut of it, it was going to quite flexible and throw up a few options.

I decided to go with a workwear option as I know I very much lean towards casual here on the blog.

By adding a white shirt and neck tie, I think it gives this summery jumpsuit a formal edge. It's a bit cute and quirky and with the addition on my current fave red boots, I think it really pops!

The beauty of this jumpsuit is that you can style it it different ways - a simple black or white tee with trainers for a casual look. Wear it as is with some statement earrings and heels for an evening look for example.

Size-wise I'm wearing the 22, it's form-fitting, so if you like a looser fit, I'd size up. There is a slit to the side of each leg which gives it a flirty feel and although the fabric is woven with no stretch, it still has lots of movement.

I've got some lovely bits coming up on the blog including some pretty summer dresses, underwear and more workwear options! Also in less than two weeks I'll be attending the UK Blog Awards, so watch out for all the goss and my outfit from there!!

Style: Femme AF

It has most probably come to your attention that I'm going through a red phase at the moment. So when Pink Clove got in touch and asked me to choose a few pieces from the range, I was instantly drawn to this 'Femme' statement sweatshirt

I instantly knew I wanted to team it with leopard print (although that's how it's styled on the site, so it was probably imprinted on my thoughts!) - these particular trousers are from Sixteen47 they're sadly no longer available, but you can get similar from Pink Clove

Red and leopard are such a classic combo and back when I dressed a bit vintage it was a favoured look of mine, but I especially love this modern take on it. And as I've spoken about in previous posts, statement tees and sweats aren't going anywhere and this this homage to my womanly side!

Size-wise I'm wearing the 24 as I like a bit more room in my casual wear. It's soft and lightweight so it makes for a great transitional piece while it's still a bit nippy outside.
