Health: #BloodNormal with Bodyform

When I first came across the new #BloodNormal ad from Bodyform on twitter I have to say I was instantly impressed. For years the period market has been flooded (YES I WENT THERE HAHA) with unrealistic images of skinny women on roller skates wearing white and apparently bleeding out weird blue shit.

Fact of the matter is, we bleed. Real life, red sometimes brown, lumpy blood. And no one actually talks about it. The conversation needs to change, and although I can't be a complete Positive Polly about periods, I can definitely be real. Periods are rubbish, I genuinely hate them. I feel dirty, I'm in agony and I want to kill people BUT I have them, and as such I should be able to talk about them without embarrassment or shame; and so should you.

So in order to get the conversation going, the lovely folk at Bodyform sent me a gorgeous package packed full of goodies to make my period a little happier, and for me, it gave me an opportunity to talk to Pops about periods and have some girlie bonding time.

Seeing out the blob in comfort!

Gorgeous Goodies

So I guess for those of you who haven't seen it, I should share the fab ad with you!

How do you feel about the ad? Does it break down taboos? OR do you feel it isn't necessary to show the actual blood? I know from my point of view, I don't want Pops, when her time comes, to be shocked. I don't want to her to be scared of something so natural (albeit it rubbish, sorry you'll never convince me periods are a good thing). I want her to be prepared so she can deal with it best she can. I majorly applaud Bodyform for tackling this, it HAD to be done.

The time has come to open up the conversation, be real about periods and understand that we should make #BloodNormal.

Style: Pink Clove in Lime

There's something to be said about the simplicity of a great statement dress and a biker jacket. It's classy but with an edge. It's a little bit sexy but understated. When this lime frill dress arrived from Pink Clove, I knew I wanted to let it do the talking and not overcomplicate the styling.

Size-wise I'm wearing the 22, it's true to size and the fit is great, it hugs all the right places and sits just right length-wise. I love the beautiful colour and the frill detail too. It's a fairly thin jersey so you could pop a black polo neck underneath for extra warmth and layering.

Pink Clove has some awesome pieces in at the moment and as always they're so reasonably priced so you can treat yourself guilt free(ish).

P.S. If you're interested in my plus size tights situation (I mean why wouldn't you be?) I'm wearing 'All Woman' from The Big Tights Company and they're fab!

Style: Bras and Honey- Swimwear

Staying with the swimwear theme, I thought I'd share with you the second of the swimsuit beauties I took away with me. This one is an Elomi number from Bras and Honey

Now if you're a long term reader of the blog, you'll know I'm a big fan of both Elomi lingerie and swimwear and this Indie Swimsuit is no exception. I have the tankini version of this set and love it, so I was excited to try out the swimsuit, and it didn't disappoint.

The sizing is spot on, the coverage and support is, as always, great. I just love the style of this one. The frilly flirty neckline and the crochet style detail to the central panel are just lovely. This is a real classy, grown up suit.

Bras and Honey have an amazing selection of lingerie and swimwear from big brands like Elomi, Freya, Curvy Kate and Charnos just to mention a few. The website is easy to use and with worldwide shipping, it's accessible to all.

Style: UK Swimwear

Now it might seem a bit odd to do a swimwear post this time of year, but I know a lot of you love a bit of winter sun, and of course a lot of you are avid swimmers too. So the lovely folk at UK swimwear contacted me before I went on my hols to see if I'd like to take one of their lovely suits with me! And the answer was of course, yes!

Now I'm a big fan of leopard print, so this one was a bit of a no brainer really. And Although I've favoured the bikini in recent years, it was nice to don a swimsuit once again, and it's especially useful when I'm running after Pops. No roll down pants, or boob slippage to worry about!

UK Swimwear have a fantastic selection of swimsuits, bikinis and accessories including Plus Size swimwear and mastectomy swimwear. The site is easy to use and you can filter options, like size, colour etc so you can easily find what you're after.

And hello free worldwide delivery making ordering is super easy too!

If you head to the site for Black Friday you'll find 15% off everything and 10% on Cyber Monday! Bargain time!!!!

Style: Navabi - The Style Collective

A few months back now I got a very exciting email from the folks at Navabi asking if I'd like to shoot with them... Not only did they want me to model, but I'd be doing it with my best mate Em, and the ever fabulous Chloe.

Photography: JKG Photography

Not that there has to be a reason, because, ya know, we're fit... but the reason we shot this particular campaign is for the launch of The Style Collective, Navabi's new contemporary design hub, it's your one stop shop for all of their fab trend-led brands. You'll find the likes of Lost Ink, Junarose, Mat, Jette and Miss Yoek.

I not going to apologise for the photo spam because the team did an amazing job. And I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Jade of JKG Photography and Hannah Davies Makeup - never did I think I could look so good. So thanks you two!

I wore mainly dresses for the shoot, which took me completely out of my comfort zone, but I loved all the looks the team chose for me! It was great being back in Junarose after being their first UK brand ambassador all those years ago (granny blogger is me). I loved all the blue Manon Batiste too, it was dreamy.

So there you have it. To say I'm proud is an understatement to be honest. I've worked long and hard at this blogger malarky so when the pay off is stuff like this, I couldn't be more chuffed. Thank you as always to you lot for reading, commenting, sharing and generally being fab!

You can read my interview with Navabi here.
