Valdereeeee Valderaaaaaa

Not long after Plus North I'm heading off on my travels, a week away with hubs, the baby, my bestie and her lovely fella and my mum and dad. Sunny shores? The feel of hot sand under my feet... Oh no folks We're loading the cars up and heading north to my families homeland Scotland! Yes I'm all about glamorous destinations!!

A holiday abroad would have been nice, but with the massive cost of getting our passports, the thought of taking a 3 year old child on a plane and the general stress of travelling abroad we decided to stay closer to home.

It's OK though, I love Scotland, it's where my Grandad was from, its where I spent most of my childhood holidays, I love the food and people and I can't wait to take Poppy up there!

Anyway I digress... in anticipation of my holiday I went out to Sports Direct and bought myself a pair of walking boots, then a couple of days later by sheer coincidence, I was contacted by them to see if I'd like to try out a Plus Size Jacket from their walking range. Perfect timing!!

The coat is a lightweight waterproof fabric with an airtex type lining to reduce sweatiness (yes that's a technical term) I was pleasantly surprised with the colour, I would have never picked pink myself, but I like the deep colour, and hey, heavens forbid I should get stranded on a mountain, the rescue teams will be able to spot me!!!

I'm wearing the 22 and there's still bags of room for a jumper or hoody underneath, the jacket is really good quality and feels nice on.

I'm thinking this will pretty much be my uniform when we go away. When you've got to pack 6 adults and a toddler into 2 cars I need to pack light so I'm thinking a few pairs of leggings, some longline tops and bobs your uncle!

Both the boots and the jacket are Karrimor, you can pick them up from Sports Direct at really great prices too! Perfect for the "likes to dabble but isn't a pro walker" like me!!
